About Me

Hello! My name is Jean Lissac.

Born in 1993 near Lyon, I traveled to Belgium after getting my master’s degree in 2012 and now growing as Advertising/Marketing Technology Enthusiast. For more than 5 years, I worked within Brussel’s Ad Agency starting from a web analytics internship to a Lead Ad Operator position in 2022.

Soon to be married and (hopefully) good future husband, I like getting things done but preferably the smartest way (not necessarily the quickest). I like solving puzzles and training my brain daily. When I am not working, I like playing the guitar, producing music, playing video games, reading Science Fiction or chill in front of Netflix. Usually on Thursday I’m out playing with my rock band.

Welcome to my website 🙂 In here you will find my professional profiles, personal information and some articles I wrote about my life as an Ad & Martech enthusiast. While this website aims at recruiters and other professional peers, I started out this website as a joke and built it as a sandbox for all my (wild) ideas while gathering all my insights into this pseudo knowledge portal. Hope you find some interesting stuff in there.

If you would like to know more about me, let me know via the contact form down below.

A bit further about myself

This may be helpful to you in your search for the best candidate.

  • What would you say are your strengths?

    • I thrive on taking initiatives.
My ideal work environment is when everyone is free to experiment and try new things to make things better. I love coming up with ideas or new things that could improve the daily operations for both my team and me. Innovation and open-mindness are concept that i value the most in a work space. During my time as Adops, I got involved around many tasks that was not part of my daily responsibility. In collaboration with other department, we implemented better ways of communication to increase speed and agility. This involved removing bottlenecks and granting visibility on the workflow from Briefing to reporting. There, I helped building a framework suitable for Automation while working towards internal process for more efficient communications.

    • I am a Self-driven worker.
My father always taught me to take pleasure from work and, mot of all, love what I do. As I get satisfaction from my achievements, I become thirsty which motivates me to overcome challenges and take on new ones by myself. Being enthusiastic about my work, I try to inspire people by becoming resourceful. As an Adops, Trafficking can be tedious for some. Among many other things, I took lead in the ad operations and decided to implement automation. Self driven by productivity gain, I was able to spend more time in meaningful tasks such as Technical Consultancy where I would better pursue my professional ambitions.

    • Honesty, transparency and accountability keep me going.
Honesty and trust are the cornerstone of my personality. these values help me be confident and owning to my decisions. For me, honesty and transparency are the ideal concepts in a work environment. I feel it help build better relationship and go further in our projects. through out my experiences, I owned up to my mistakes and laid-out transparently what led to it. This honesty served towards a better and long term relationship with any stakeholders. Mistakes were made, but accountability and honesty allowed me to never made it twice at the same job.

    • What would you say are your weaknesses?

      • I sometime focus too much on the details.
Indeed, I tend to spend too much time on finer points within a project of as per my analysis. As this can affect my productivity, I try to always remind myself of the bigger picture. Working in advertising, frequent (written or oral) presentations are a perfect exercise. Within deadlines and pressure, I mostly focus on the essentials leaving the less-important details to questions or annexes. Synthesis is my biggest area of improvement.

      • Internal Competition makes me very uncomfortable.
To me, internal competition often leads to dishonest behavior, mind-games and the need for “whatever it cost” scenarii.  I believe skills, knowledge and (ultimately) recognition is a much bigger achiever for my career. Within the ad agencies, the need for awards and recognition among peers too often went beyond what the clients needed. There, I felt uneasy and I preferred focusing on the work and achieve task within what would be best for the clients.

      • Poker is not my strong suit.
I am not a very good liar. As an extrovert, hiding emotions or maintaining a poker-face can be very challenging. I try to controlling emotions just enough not to compromise myself while still being true to my personae. Being frequently with clients and partners, emotions can transpire. However, whenever I am selling, I aim at being the “advisor” which allow me to express my emotions freely without being awkward or impolite.

    • Where do you see yourself in five years?

My dream job would be to become Solution architect. This position requires great technical, analytical and pragmatic skills. It revolve around understanding an environment, its challenges and try solving it through technology and data. Although I may not have all the technical luggage yet, being a solution architect comes in line with my professional ambition and personality. There, I will get to pitch my ideas to stakeholders, be pro-active, connect the dots, solve puzzle and manage projects. Indeed, this would ultimately combined my professional aspirations from being an intrapreneur to increasing technical expertise.
    • How Do You Handle Stress and Pressure?

During my experience in marketing, deadlines were part of my day-to-day. Pressure and stress keep me focused on my tasks. They allow me to focus on what is necessary for completion. Then, I identify the requirements for the task and organize to execute the task with efficiency.
    • What’s your biggest professional achievement?

Working as an Adops in one of the largest agency in Belgium was a great challenge. It requires speed, efficiency and most of all accuracy. Given some skills I developed previously, I address them both by building a program that would automate the daily tasks and catch fails. I made sure requests were standardised while being part of the department’s processes. This helped me to increase my productivity progressively to 70% and reduce errors by 95%. The gains were reallocated towards increasing productivity even more and focused on technical consultancy
    • Tell me how you think other people would describe you.

From the feedbacks I got over the years, I would say my co-workers would describe me as : Honest, efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly. I believe I am always solution oriented and here to help as best and fast as I can. I am very pro-active and will often go the “extra mile” to help and solve situation.
